March 21st / 2 Hour Trauma /Stop The Bleed

This training will be a review of trauma case study and the most up to date Trauma data and techniques to include the Stop The Bleed Course.

There will be classroom presentation with open discussion on case files followed by Stop the Bleed Course. What stops bleeding? You’ll practice the 3 quick techniques that help save a life before someone bleeds out:

(1) How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound;

(2) How to pack a wound to control bleeding;

(3) How to correctly apply a tourniquet. These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.

Amy serves as the Education, Outreach, & Injury Prevention Nurse Coordinator for Penn State Hershey Medical Center, a Level 1 accredited adult trauma center. Amy is a trauma instructor for Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, Trauma Nursing Core Course, and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course

The class is designed for all levels of providers from Volunteer First Responders, EMR, EMT to Advanced Level providers.
